On the 13th of September the junior cert results come out and it's also the first day of the st gerards fourth year camping trip. I was excited and nervous about the camping trip because I would not have my phone for three days but I was going to be with all friends so I knew it was going to be good fun.
On arrival at Lough Dan we were carefully told the strict rules on keeping the site clean and that all the people who work here are volunteers and that there are lots of different animals that can be harmed if we do not keep the site spotless. We all agreed and gathered our things and began setting up our tents in our groups. It's was not difficult to set up our tent and we soon had it up and all our beds and things packed into the tent. We then began to cook lunch. After lunch we went on a 5km walk which was a nice relaxing walk with a beautiful view of the lake. When we got back we cooked up dinner and sat around the campfire and it felt like we were bonding as a group. I couldn't wait for the next day. I woke up on the second day after the worst sleep of my life but I was excited about the day ahead and the 22km walk that we had to complete. We started the walk at eleven in the morning. the first 2 hours were difficult and there was not much too see. But when we reached the top of the mountain the view was spectacular. there was a full 360 degree view of the surrounding lakes and forrests. It made me feel closer to nature and more bonded as a year group. When we got back it was four o clock and the teachers said we could go for a swim which was good news to us because we were all exausted and enjoyed a refreshing swim. We then got burgers and relaxed for the rest of the day. I woke up the next day refreshed and ready to go home and tell my friends and family all i had done
